صادق الشنطي (٠٠٠ - ١٤١٥ هـ- ٠٠٠ - ١٩٩٤ م؟ ) من أبرز الصحفيين الفلسطينيين. أسس عام ١٩٣٢ م جريدة «الدفاع» بالاشتراك مع شقيقه إبراهيم، ثم توقفت عام ١٩٤٨ م، وأعاد إصدارها مرة أخرى في القدس، إلى أن توقفت للمرة الثانية عام ١٩٦٧ م، ثم صدرت في عمان عام ١٩٧١ م، وظلت مستمرة في الصدور حتى تم إلغاء الصحف الفلسطينية: «الدفاع» و «فلسطين» و «المنار» لدمجها في صحف يومية. وقد تعرض للاعتقال أكثر من مرة إبان الانتداب البريطاني في فلسطين، بسبب مقالاته المدافعة عن القضية الفلسطينية. مات في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عن عمر يناهز ٨٥ عاما (٢).
