سعد الدين الخطيب (١٣٢٣ - ١٤٠٧ هـ- ١٩٠٥ - ١٩٨٧ م) فقيه شافعي. من أشرفية الوادي في ضواحي دمشق. قرأ القرآن الكريم على الشيخ محمد سليم الحلواني، وتعلم عند الشيخ محمد أبي اليسر عابدين وغيره، ونشأ نشأة فقيرة. تولى الإمامة والخطابة في قرية أشرفية الوادي. وهو عالم فرضي فقيه شافعي متمكن، نقل عدد من معارفه أنه كان إذا جاء رجل من أشرفية الوادي إلى الشيخ أبي اليسر عابدين يستفتيه كان يقول له: عندكم الشيخ سعد الدين وتأتي إليّ؟ وكان ﵀ زاهدا لا يعتني كثيرا بتحسين منظره، وكان حافظا لكتاب الله تعالى (٢).
