أسعد قاسم حريز (١٣٢٩ - ١٤٠٨ هـ- ١٩١١ - ١٩٨٨ م) سياسي، محام. ولد في جديدة المتن بلبنان .. واشتغل ١٩ عاما في المحاماة .. واستقرّ في محكمة الجنايات تسع سنوات. كان له نشاط اجتماعي وطني وسياسي كثيف، فاشترك في «كتلة الشباب الوطني» في بيروت سنة ١٩٣٥، وأسهم بعدئذ مع لفيف من شباب «بني معروف» في إحياء نادي الإصلاح الدرزي، وكان أمينا لسره، وانضم إلى حزب النجادة، وكان عضوا في لجنته العليا. وتولى رئاسة تحرير مجلة «الإيمان» لسان حال الحزب، ثم انضم إلى حزب النداء القومي برئاسة كاظم الصلح، وشارك في تأسيس اللجنة القومية التي كان يرأسها محمد علي بيهم، كل هذا قبل دخوله الوظيفة (٢).
