١١٣٩) محمد بن علي القاضي أبو العلاء الواسطي: " الذي ظهر لي من سياق ترجمته من "تأريخ الخطيب" أنه وهم في أشياء بين الخطيب بعضها، وأما كونه اتهم ببعضها فليس هذا مذكورا في "تأريخ الخطيب" ولا غيره، وقد اعتمد الخطيب أبا العلاء في أشياء من "تأريخه". "اللسان" (٦/ ٣٧١).
