١٢٣٣ - على بن عبد الكافى بن على بن تمام (١) بن يوسف بن موسى ابن تمام (١) بن حامد (٢) بن يحيى بن عمر بن عثمان بن على بن مسوار بن سوار (٣) بن سليم السبكى نقى الدين وأبو الحسن. الفقيه الشافعى، المفسر، الحافظ، الأصولى. ولد مستهلّ صفر سنة ٦٨٣ قرأ القرآن على التقى (٤) [بن] الصائغ والتفسير على العلم العراقى، والفقه على ابن الرفعة (٥)، والنحو على أبى حيان، والحديث على الشرف الدمياطى (٦)، ورحل، وسمع من أبى الحسن بن الصواف، وأبى جعفر الموازينى، وأجاز له الرشيد بن أبى القاسم، وإسماعيل بن الطبال، وبرع في الفنون. توفى سنة ٧٥٦ (٧).
