[حماد بن إبراهيم] بن إسماعيل قوام الدين الصفَّار أبو المحامد البخاري كان أبوه وجده من بيت العلم والزهد وكانوا من كبار المشايخ وكان حماد يؤم الناس في الصلاة ويخطب غيره على ما هو عادة أهل بخارى أنه لا يصلى بهم الخطيب إلا من هو أعلم ولد ليلة العيد من ذى الحجة سنة ثلاث وتسعين وأربعمائة وأخذ العلم عن أبيه وصار شيخ الإسلام وإمام الأئمة أوحد عصره في العلوم الدينية أصولا وفروعاً مجتهد زمانه أخذ عنه برهان الإسلام الزرنوجي مصنف تعليم المتعلم وافتخار الدين طاهر صاحب الخلاصة.
