[الحسن بن نصر] بن إبراهيم بن يعقوب الحاكم الكشني نسبة إلى كشَّن بفتح الكاف وتشديد الشين المعجمة ثم نون قرية من قرى جرجان على ثلاث فراسخ منها ولد فيها سنة تسعين وأربعمائة وأخذ الفقه عن أبى المعالى مسعود بن الحسين الخطيب الكشانى صاحب المختصر المسعودى وكان عالمًا فاضلا له قوة تامة في العلم.
