(أحمد بن محمد) بن عيسى بن الأزهر أبو العباس البرتي بكسر الباء الموحدة وسكون الراء المهملة ثم التاء المثناة من فوق نسبة إلى برت قرية بنواحي بغداد كذا ضبطه في الجواهر المضية تفقه على أبي سليمان موسى الجوزجاني وروى كتب محمد عنه عن محمد وحدث بالكثير وصنف اليسير وأخذ عن يحيى بن أكثم القاضي عن وكيع بن الجراح عن أبي حنيفة وعن الخطيب كان أبو العباس ثقة حجة يذكر بالصلاح والعبادة تقلد قضاء واسط استعفى في أيام المقتدر ومات سنة ثمانين ومائتين وعن الصيمرى أنه كان في طبقة الحصاف وأحمد بن أبى عمران (١).
