    ٢٨٦٠ - (ت ١٢٨٥ هـ): الشيَّخ فارِس بن محمد بنِ فَارِس بن رُمَيْح، تَصْغير رُمْح، النَّجْديُّ الحنبليُّ الفَقِيه النَّبِيْه الفَرضي. ذكره الشَّيْخ سُلَيْمان بن حَمْدان فيما وَجَدْتُه بِخَطَّه نَقْلًا عن حَفيْده وقال: أخَذَ العِلْم عن عُلَماء والدّرعيّة، وتَخَصَّصَ في عِلْم الفَرائِض، فكانَتْ له فيه اليَدُ الطُّوْلى، وأخذ عَنْهُ ابنُه شَيْخُنا حَمَد بن فَارِس وغيره. وتُوُفِّي سنةَ خَمْسٍ وثمانين ومئتين وأَلْف. انتهى.
