    ٢٧٨٠ - (ت ١٢٢٩ هـ): الشيخُ راشدٌ بنُ هويّد النَّجْديُّ الحنبليُّ، العالمُ الفاضلُ، المحقِّقُ المدقِّقُ. كان عالمًا عَلَّامةً، ذا معرفةٍ وفهمٍ حادٍّ، فاق على أقرانه بحدَّة الفهم، وسرعة الإدراك، ولد بنجد وأخذ عن علمائها، من أجَلِّهم الشَّيخ سعيد بن حجي المتقدم قبله، فقد أخذ عنه ولازمه حتى تمهَّر في الفقه، وفنون العلم. ذكره العلامةُ ابنُ بِشر في "تاريخ نجد" (¬٢) وقال: إنَّهُ توفي سنة تسعٍ وعشرينَ ومئتين وألْف. انتهى.
