٢٧٠٩ - (ت ١١٧٥ هـ): حماد بن محمد بن شَبَانة، النَّجْديُّ الفَقِيْه القَاضي. ذكره ابن بِشْر في "تاريخ نجد" (¬١) وقال: هو الفَقِيْه العَلَّامة المَشْهُور، الذَّائع الصِّيت، المُحَقِّق المُدَقِّق، كان فقِيْهًا مُنْهمِكًا في الفِقْه خَاصَّةً، أخَذَ العِلْم عن عُلَماء نَجْد، وأَفْتَى ودَرَّس. وتُوُفي في بَلَد المَجمعة من بُلْدان نَجْد بِسَبَب الوَبَاء الحادث بها سنةَ خمسٍ وسبعين ومِئةٍ وألْف. انتهى. وذكره الفاخريُّ في "تاريخه" بنحوه.
