    ٢٢٩٣ - (ت ٨٧٠ هـ) محمد بن علي بن سعيد شمس الدِّين بن الحاجِّ، البَعْليُّ الحنبليُّ القَطَّان، المعروف بابن البقسماطيُّ. ذكره السَّخَاويُّ في "الضَّوء" (¬٢) وقال: ولد قبل التِّسعين وسبع مئة ببَعْلَبَكَّ، ونشأ بها، فقرأ القرآن، وحفظ "العمدتين" و"ربع المُحَرَّر" وغيرها، وقرأ في الفقه على التَّاج بن بَرْدِس، وقبل ذلك سَمِعَ الصَّحيح على أبي الفرج بن الزغْبُوب، وحَجَّ، وتكَسَّب ببَيْع القُطْن في بعض الحَوَانيت ببلده، وحدَّث، سَمِع منه الفُضَلاء، وكان خيِّرًا مُشْتغلًا بشأنه. مات نحوَ سنةِ سبعين وثمان مئة ظنًّا، ولم يَجُز الستين. انتهى.
