    ٢١٠٧ - (ت ٨٢٠ هـ): أحمدُ بن محمَّد البرنقي، الحنبلي. قال السَّخاويُّ في "الضَّوء" (¬١)، قال شيخُنا ابنُ حجر: هو أحدُ فُضَلاء الحَنابلة. اشتغلَ قليلًا ونابَ في الحُكم، وكان خَيِّرًا، صالحًا، كثيرَ التِّلاوة. وجاورَ بمكَّةَ ثلاثينَ سَنة، وتفرَّغ للعِبادة على اختلافِ أنواعِها وأَضَرَّ في آخِر عُمره. وماتَ بمكَّة سَنة عِشرين وثمانِ مئة، وقيل: سَنة تسعَ عَشرَة وثمان مئة. انتهى. وذكره النَّجم ابنُ فَهد، فقال: أحمدُ البَرْنقيُّ، الدِّمشقِي، ثم المكِّي، الشَّيخُ الصَّالحُ، العابدُ النَّاسِكُ الزَّاهدُ، إلى أن قال: ماتَ سَنة إحدى وعشرينَ وثمانِ مئة. انتهى.
