١٨٩٦ - (ت ٧٨٥ هـ): سليمان بن أحمد بن سليمان بن عبد الرَّحمن الحنبلي القاضي، الكناني العَسْقَلاني، علم الدين المصري. قال ابن العماد (¬٣): قدِم من بلده نابُلُس صغيرًا، واشتغل بالقاهرة في المذهب، وبرع فيه، وصار من أعيان الجماعة، وأفتى، وتزوج بابنة قاضي القضاة موفق الدين، وَوَلِيَ نيابةَ الحكم بمصر، وارتقى إلى أنْ صار أكبرَ النُّواب، وتوفي يوم الاثنين ثالث عشري جمادى الآخرة سنة خمس وثمانين وسبع مئة، ودفن بتربة القاضي موفق الدين خارج باب النصر. انتهى. وذكره ابن عبد الهادي (¬٤).
