    ١٨٧٠ - (ت ٧٧٨ هـ): يوسف بن أحمد بن سليمان المعروف بابن الطَّحَّان، الحنبلي، الشيخ، الإمام الأوحد، ذو الفنون. قال ابن العماد (¬٢): قال شيخ الإسلام ابن مفلح: كان بارعًا في الأُصول أخذه عن الشيخ شهاب الدين الإِخْمِيْمي، وأخذ العربية عن العُنَّابي، وتفقَّه في المذهب على ابن مفلحٍ صاحب "الفروع" وغيره، وكان بارعًا في المعاني والبيان، صحيحَ الذهن، حسنَ الفهم، جيِّد العبارة، إمامًا نظَّارًا، مفتيًا مدرسًا، حسنَ السيرة، عنده أدبٌ وتواضعٌ، وله ثروة، توفي بالصَّالحية يوم السبت سادس عشري شوال سنة ثمان وسبعينَ وسبع مئة وله نحو أربعين سنة. انتهى.
