    ١٢٧٩ - (ت ٦٧٦ هـ): عليُّ بن عليّ بن أسفنديار، البغدادّي، نجمُ الدِّين، الواعظ الحنبلي. ذكره الذَّهبيُّ (¬٢)، وابنُ العماد (¬٣)، بما مُلَخَّصُه: ولد سنة ستَّ عشرة وست مئة. وقرأ وسمعَ من ابن اللَّتِّي، والحُسَين ابن رئيس الرُّؤساء. ووعظ بدمشق، فازدَحَم عليه النّاس. وانتَهت إليه رِئاسةُ الوعظ لِحُسْنِ إيراده، ولُطْفِ شمائله، وفهمه، وبَهجة مَحاسِنِه. وتوفي في رجَب، سنة ستٍّ وسبعين وست مئة. انتهى.
