    ٨٦٦ - (ت ٥٥١ هـ): أحمد بن الفَرَج بن راشد بن محمد المَدَني، الدُّجَيْلي، الورَّاق، الحنبلي، أبو العباس. قال ابن العماد: هو الحجة الثبت القاضي، من أهل "المدينة" قرية فوق الأَنْبار. ولد في عشر ذي الحجة، سنة تسعين وأربع مئة وقرأ القرآن بالروايات على مكي بن أحمد الحَنْبلي، وغيره. وتفقَّه على عبد الواحد بن شُنَيْف، وسمع من أبي منصور محمد بن أحمد الخازن وغيره. وتوفي في يوم السبت سادس ذي الحجة سنة إحدى وخمسين وخمس مئة.ودفن من الغد بمقبرة باب حرب. انتهى. وذكره ابن رجب في "الطبقات" (¬١)، وذكرته في "القطف"، وذكره السخاوي في "تاريخ المدينة" (¬٢).
