    ٨١١ - (ت ٥٢٨ هـ): عبد الله بن المبارك، ويعرف بعَسْكَر ابن الحسن العُكْبَري المقرئ، الفقيه الحنبلي، ويُعرف بابن نَبَال. قال ابن العماد (¬٤): سمع من أبي نصر الزَّيْنَبي، وأبي الحسن العاصمي، وغيرهما، وتفقَّه على أبي الوفاء ابن عقيل، وأبي سعيد البَرَدَاني، وكان يصحب شافعًا الجِيْلي، فأشار عليه بشراء كُتب ابن عقيل، فباع مِلكًا له فاشترى بثمنه كتاب "الفنون"، وكتاب "الفصول"، وقفهما على المسلمين، وكان خيِّرًا من أهل السنّة، وحدَّث، توفي ليلة الثلاثاء، ثاني عشري جمادى الأولى، سنة ثمانٍ وعشرين وخمس مئة عن نيَّف وسبعين سنة، ودفن بمقبرة الإِمام أحمد. انتهى. وذكره ابن رجب (¬٥) بنحوه.
