    ٧٤٠ - (ت ٤٨٩ هـ): علي بن المبارك النَّهْرِيّ، أبو الحسن، الحنبلي. قال النابلسي (¬٢): ولد بدرب النَّهْر من الكَرْخ، فعرف بالنَّهْرِيّ. تفقَّه على القاضي أبي يعلى، ودرس في حياته وبعد مماته. وكان كثيرَ الذَّكاء، قيَّمًا بالفرائض، سمع من أبي يعلى الحديثَ الكثير. وتوفي في ذي القعدة، سنة تسع وثمانين وأربع مئة. وصلَّى عليه ابنُ أبي يعلى، بجامع المنصور. ودفن في مقبرة الجامع. انتهى. وذكره ياقوت في "معجم البلدان" (¬٣)، فقال: علي بن المبارك النَّهْرِيّ، أبو الحسن الفقيه. كان فقيهًا حنبليًّا. مات في سنة تسع وثمانين وأربع مئة. والنَّهرِيّ نسبة إلى درب النَّهر ببغداد، ولد به فنُسِبَ إليه. انتهى المراد منه.
