    ٥٩٨ - (ت ٣١٨ هـ): جعفر بن محمد بن يعقوب، أبو الفضل الصَّنْدَلي الحنبلي. قال النابلسي (¬٢): سمع إبراهيم بن مبشر الكاتب، وإسحاق بن إبراهيم البغوي، والحسن بن محمد الزعفراني، وعلي بن حرب الطائي، ومحمد بن إسماعيل الحسباني، وصحب من أصحاب أحمد: الفضلَ بن زياد، وخطاب بن بشر، وغيرهما.وحدث عنه: عبد العزيز بن جعفر الخرقي، وأبو عمرو ابن حَيُّويه، ويوسف القواس. وذكره الخطيب فقال: ثقة، صالح دَيِّن، سكن باب الشعير، وكان يقال: إنه من الأبدال. قال ابن قانع: توفي سنة ثمان عشرة وثلاث مئة. انتهى المراد منه.
