٥١٦ - (ت ٢٦٣ هـ): معاوية بن صالح، أبو عبد الله. قال النابلسي (¬٦): هو صاحب كتاب "التاريخ" في معرفة أصحاب النبي ﷺ ومعرفة الضعفاء والثقات. يروي عن يحيى بن معين وأقرانه. حكى عن أحمد بن حنبل. انتهى.وقال ابن العماد (¬١): معاوية بن صالح الحافظ، أبو عبد الله الأشعري الدمشقي. روى عن عبيد الله بن موسى، وأبي مسهر، وسأل يحيى بن معين وتخرج به. توفي سنة ثلاث وستين ومئتين.
