والمنسوب: أبو علي الحسن بن علي بن محمد بن جعفر الوخشي، الأديب الحافظ. من شيوخه: سافر في طلب الحديث، وسمع بخراسان من أصحاب الأصم، وببغداد أبا عمر عبد الواحد بن مهدي الفارسي، وبمصر أبا محمد عبد الرحمن بن عمر النحاس، وبدمشق تمّام بن محمد الرازي، وغيرهم.روى عنه عمر بن محمد السرخسي، والقاضي عمر بن علي المحمودي، والحافظ أبو بكر الخطيب. توفي سنة (٤٧١) وقيل: مات أبو علي الحسن بن علي الوخشي، سنة (٤٥٦) (١).
