والمنسوب: أحمد بن ثابت بن أبي الجهم الواسطي. ينسب إلى واسط قبرة، سكن قرطبة، يكنى أبا عمر، روى عن أبي محمد الأصيلي، وكان يتولى القراءة عليه. حدث عنه أبو عبد الله بن ديباج، ووصفه بالخير والصلاح. توفي الواسطي في جمادي الآخرة سنة (٤٣٧) وقد كفّ بصره (٢).
