والمنسوب: أبو عبد الله محمد بن الحسين بن عمارة المديني. سمع إسحاق بن راهويه، ومحمد بن رافع، وغيرهما. ومحمد بن نعيم بن عبد الله أبو بكر النيسابوري المديني. سمع قتيبة بن سعيد، ومحمد بن عبدالملك بن أبي الشوارب، وغيرهما. روى عنه من الأقران محمد بن إسماعيل البخاري، وأبو العباس السرّاج، وبعدهما أبو حامد بن الشرقي، ومكّي بن عبدان. وسليمان بن محمد بن ناجية المديني، روى عن أحمد بن سلمة النيسابوري. ومحمد بن محمد بن سعد بن أيوب أبو الحسن المديني. سمع أبا بكر بن خزيمة، وأبا العباس السرّاج، روى عنه والذي قبله الحاكم أبو عبدا لله (١).
