والمنسوب: محمد بن الفضل بن علي أبو الفتح المارشكي، الطوسي، من أهل الطابران. كان إماما فاضلا، متقنا مناظرا، فحلا أصوليّا، حسن السيرة، جميل الأمر، كثير العبادة، تفقّه على أبي حامد الغزالي، وكان من أنجب تلامذته الطوسيين. سمع نصر الله الخشنامي، وعمر بن عبد الكريم الرّوّاسي. سمع منه أبو سعد بطوس، وتوفي بها خوفا من الغزّ وقت نزولهم بطوس، وإحاطتهم بها من غير معاقبة، في أواخر رمضان سنة (٥٤٩) (٢).
