والمنسوب: أبو زرعة محمد بن أحمد بن يوسف بن محمد بن الجنيد الكشي، الجرجاني. من شيوخه: أبو نعيم عبد الملك بن محمد بن عدي، ومكي بن عبدان، وعبد الرحمن بن أبي حاتم، وغيرهم. وعبد بن حميد الكشي، والمحدث الكبير أبو مسلم إبراهيم بن عبد الله بن مسلم البصري، الكشي. وابنه محمد بن أبي مسلم الكشي، ويقال: الكجي منسوبا إلى ناحية بخوزستان يقال لها زيركج، قال أبو موسى: وكش قرية من قرى أصبهان، بكاف غير صريحة، كان بها جماعة من طلّاب العلم، إلا أنه يكتب بالجيم بدل الكاف (٣).
