والمنسوب: أبو مجاهد علي بن مجاهد الكابلي، الرازي، قال البخاري: هو من سبي كابل. من شيوخه: موسى بن عبيدة الرّبذي، ومحمد بن إسحاق، وعنبسة. من تلاميذه: الإمام أحمد بن حنبل، والصّلت بن مسعود الجحدري، وزياد بن أيوب، وغيرهم. وأبو الحسن محمد بن الحسين الكابلي. من شيوخه: يزيد بن هارون، وابن عيينة، وغيرهما. مات في حدود سنة (٢٠٥). وأبو عبد الله محمد بن العباس الكابلي. من شيوخه: إبراهيم بن إسماعيل بن محمد بن المعقب، والإمام أحمد بن حنبل. من تلاميذه: أبو عبد الله محمد بن مخلد الدّوري، توفي في رجب سنة (٢٧١) (٣).
