والمنسوب: أبو معاذ عبدالغالب بن جعفر بن الحسن بن علي الضرّاب يعرف بابن القنّيّ. من شيوخه: محمد بن إسماعيل الورّاق، ومن تلاميذه: أبو بكر الخطيب. مات في اليوم السابع والعشرين من شعبان سنة (٤٣١) ومولده سنة (٣٦٥) وابنه علي بن عبدالغالب رفيق الخطيب في رحلته إلى خراسان سمع وحدّث (٢). (١٦٧٤) النسبة: القورسي، نسبة إلى قُورُس: الضم ثم السكون، وراء مضمومة، وسين مهملة: مدينة أزليّة بها آثار قديمة وكورة (٣) من نواحي حلب، خراب وبها آثار باقية.
