والمنسوب: أبو العباس أحمد بن الحسين بن أبي القاسم بن عليّ بن بابا القصراني. الأذوني، من أهل قصران الخارج، وأذون من قراها. كان شيخا من مشايخ الزيدية (٢)، صالحا يرحل إلى الرّيّ أحيانا، يتبرك به الناس (٣)،ولد بأذون سنة (٤٩٥). سمع المجالس المائتين لأبي سعد، وسمعها منه ابن أخيه أبو بكر طاهر بن الحسين بن عليّ بن السمان، وسمعها منه إسماعيل بن عليّ السمّان الحافظ، روى عنه السمعاني بأذون (١).
