والمنسوب: خطّاب بن مسلمة بن محمد بن سعيد أبو المغيرة الإيادي، القرموني، صاحب قرطبة. من شيوخه: محمد بن عمر بن لبابة، وأسلم بن عبد العزيز، وأحمد بن خالد، وقاسم بن أصبغ، ومحمد بن الأعرابي، وخلقا غيره. رحل إلى المشرق وحج سنة (٣٣٢) وعاد إلى الأندلس. وروى، وسمع منه ابن الفرضي وذكره في تاريخه وقال: سألته عن مولده فقال سنة (٢٧٤) وتوفي لاثنتي عشرة ليلة خلت من شوال سنة (٣٧٢) وكان بصيرا بالنحو واللغة (١).
