والمنسوب: أبو بكر الحسن بن محمد بن مفرج بن حماد بن الحسين المعافري، المعروف بالقبّشي. من شيوخه: خلف بن قاسم بن سهل الحافظ، وآخرين، وروى عن أبي عمر أحمد بن محمد بن عفيف القرظي في تاريخه وزاد فيه وتمم، وهو من أعلام علماء الأندلس، وممن يعوّل على قوله، ويستحسن كلامه لبلاغته وبراعته، وإنما قيل له: القبّشي، لسكناه غربي قرطبة بالقرب من عين قبّش. جمع كتابا سمّاه كتاب الاحتفال في تاريخ أعلام الرجال، في أخبار الخلفاء والقضاة والفقهاء، ومات بعد (٤٣٠) ومولده سنة (٣٤٣) (٢).
