والمنسوب: أحمد بن هبة الله بن محمد بن أحمد بن مسلم الفرضي، أبو عبد الله المقرئ. كان من أهل البصرة، سكن دسكرة نهر الملك، وتولى الخطابة بها إلى حين وفاته. من شيوخه: أبو ياسر الحمّامي، قرأ عليه القرآن، والحسن بن محمد الملاح، وثابت بن بندار، وأبو الحسن علي بن قريش روى عنهم. وكان الناس يخرجون إليه ويسمعون منه، فكتب عنه جماعة. من تلاميذه: المبارك بن كامل، وإبراهيم بن محمود الشعار، وأحمد بن طارق، وعبد العزيز بن الأخضر (٢).
