والمنسوب: أبو الحجاج يوسف بن إبراهيم بن شيث بن يزيد الفرساني. مولى بني أسد أسد قريش، كان يحفظ فتاوى أبي مسعود الرازي. من شيوخه: أبو نعيم، وغيره. وأبو الحسن عليّ بن عمر ابن عبد العزيز بن عمران الفرساني. من تلاميذه: ابن مردويه، حدث عنه في تاريخه. وأبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن أيوب الفرساني، العنبري، من أهل أصبهان. من شيوخه: الثوري، والمبارك بن فضالة، وغيرهما. من تلاميذه: عبد الله بن داود، وكان عابدا. وبذّال بن سعد بن خالد بن محمد بن أيوب أبو محمد الفرساني. من شيوخه: محمد ابن بكير الحضرمي، حدث عنه عبد الله بن عدي الجرجاني، وذكر أنه سمع منه ببغداد (١).
