والمنسوب: الفقيه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يوسف العقيلي، الحوراني. كان من أصحاب أبي حنيفة. من شيوخه: برهان الدين أبو الحسن علي بن الحسن البلخي، صحبه بدمشق، وأخذ عنه وتقدّم في الفقه، وصار مدرّسا بجامع قلعة دمشق. توفي في سنة (٥٦٤) وله شعر، منه: ما أليق الإحسان بالأحسن ... عقلا إلى الكافر والمؤمن وأقبح الظلم بذي ثروة ... حكّم في الأرواح مستأمن يا من تولى عاتبا معرضا ... يعدل في هجري ولا ينثني (١)
