والمنسوب إلى هذه: المظفر بن أردشير بن أبي منصور العبّادي. الواعظ ذو اليد الباسطة فيه، واللسان الطلق في فنّه، حتى صار يضرب المثل على المنابر بحسن إيراده وبديهته. من شيوخه: أبو عليّ نصرالله بن أحمد الخشنامي، وإسماعيل بن عبد الغافر الفارسي، ومحمد بن محمود الرشيدي، سمع منهم بنيسابور. ذكره أبو سعد في شيوخه ولم يحسن الثناء على دينه، وزعم أنه كان يشرب الخمر، ويرتكب المحظور، وخرج رسولا من بغداد فتوفّي بعسكر مكرم، في شهر ربيع الآخر سنة (٥٤٧) ونقل تابوته إلى بغداد فدفن بالشونيزية (٢).
