والمنسوب: الحسن بن علي بن سلمة الطيري، أبو القاسم المزّيّ. من شيوخه: أبو الجهم أحمد بن الحسين بن طلّاب المشغراني، وأبو جعفر محمد بن القاسم بن عبد الخالق المؤذن، ومحمد بن أحمد بن فيّاض. من تلاميذه: أبو عبد الله محمد بن حمزة الحرّاني، وأبو نصر بن الجبان. وقال الشيخ زين الأمناء بن عبّاد: وبدمشق عدّة قرى يقال لكل واحدة منها: طيرة بني فلان.
