والمنسوب: عمر بن عليّ بن أبي الحسين بن عليّ بن أبي بكر بن أحمد بن حفص الشيخي، الطوركي، البلخي. المعروف بأديب، ولد ببلخ في رجب إما سنة (٤٠٦) أو (٤٠٧) سكن سكة طورك، شيخ صالح عفيف، قرأ عليه جماعة من الأدباء. من شيوخه: أبو القاسم محمد بن أحمد المليكي، وأبو جعفر محمد بن الحسين السّمنجاني الإمام. كتب عنه أبو سعد ببلخ، وتوفي بها يوم السبت حادي عشر جمادى الأولى سنة (٥٤٨) (٢).
