والمنسوب: أبو القاسم عليّ بن محمد السميساطي. السلمي، المعروف بالجميش، وقيل: الحبيش.مات بدمشق في شهر ربيع الآخر سنة (٤٥٣) ودفن في داره بباب الناطفانيين، وكان قد وقفها على فقراء المسلمين والصوفية، ووقف علوها على الجامع، ووقف أكثر نعمته على وجوه البرّ. كان قد حدث عن عبد الوهاب بن الحسن الكلابي بحديث ابن خريم، عن هشام، عن مالك وغيره، وحدث بالموطّإ لابن وهب وابن القاسم، وحدث بشيء من حديث الأوزاعي جمْع ابن جوصا، وحدث بعد ذلك، وكان يذكر أن مولده في رمضان سنة (٣٧٧) هذا كلّه من كتاب العرضات لابن الأكفاني (١).
