والمنسوب: موسى بن عمران بن موسى بن هلال أبو عمران السلماسي. من شيوخه: أبان وأبو الحسن بن جوصا، وأبو الطيب أحمد بن إبراهيم بن عباري، ومكحول البيروتي، سمع منهم بدمشق، وغيرهم، وأبو بكر محمد بن بركة برداعس، سمع منه بحلب، وسمع بالري، والكوفة، وبغداد، ومحمد بن مخلّد العطّار، وجعفر بن محمد الخلدي، وسمع بالرّقّة، ونصيبين، والرملة، وحماة. من تلاميذه: ابن أخته أبو المظفّر المهنّد بن المظفر بن الحسن السلماسي، والشريف أبو القاسم الزيدي الحمامي، وغيرهما. مات بأشنه في ربيع الآخر سنة (٣٨٠) وحمل إلى سلماس (٢).
