والمنسوب: القاضي علي بن رجاء بن زهير بن عليّ أبو الحسن بن أبي الفضل، الساقي، أقام ببغداد مدّة يتفقّه في مذهب الشافعي ﵁، ورحل إلى الرّحبة، وواصل ابن المتقّنة. من شيوخه: أبو الفضل بن ناصر، سمع منه ببغداد، ومن غيره، ورجع إلى ناحيته فولّي القضاء بها، وكان أبوه قاضيا بها، وولي قضاء آمل أيضا، ومات بواسط منحدرا من بغداد سنة (٥٩٤) ومولده في سنة (٥٢٩) (٣).
