    والمنسوب: الحسن بن محمد بن الصباح الزعفراني. نزل بغداد وإليه ينسب درب الزعفراني، وأكثر المحدّثين ببغداد منسوبون إلى هذا الدرب. من شيوخه: الإمام الشافعي محمد بن إدريس ﵁، قرأ عليه كتبه القديمة. قال له الشافعي: من أيّ العرب أنت؟ فقال: ما أنا بعربيّ إنّما أنا من قرية يقال لها الزعفرانية، قال: فقال لي أنت سيد هذه القرية، وكان ثقة، ومات في سنة (٢٦٠) (١).
