والمنسوب: عمر بن عبد الكريم بن سعدويه أبو الفتيان، الدهستاني. ويقال: أبو حفص بن أبي الحسن الروّامي، الدهستاني، الحافظ، قدم دمشق فسمع بها. من شيوخه: عبد الدائم بن الحسن، وأبو محمد الكناني، وأبو الحسن بن أبي الحديد، وأبو نصر بن طلّاب، سمع منهم بدمشق، وجابر بن ياسين، وأبو الغنائم بن المأمون، سمع منهما ببغداد، وسمع بمرو، وهراة، ونيسابور، وسمع بصور أبا بكر الخطيب. وحدث بدمشق وصور وغير ذلك. ودهستان: ناحية بباذغيس من أعمال هراة.
