والمنسوب: أبو المغيرة القاسم بن الفضل الحداني. من تلاميذه: مسلم بن إبراهيم، وحدث السلفي عن حاتم بن الليث قال: حدثنا عليّ بن عبد الله هو ابن المديني قال: قاسم بن الفضل الحداني، لم يكن حدّانيّا وكان ينزل حدان، وكان رجلا من الأزد، قال: ومات سنة (١٦٦) وقيل: سنة (١٦٧) (٣). قلت: بل هو حداني، لأن بني حدان من الأزد، فتصح النسبة إلى القبيلة نسبا، وإلى المحلة سكنا.
