والمنسوب: أبو علي كوشيار بن لباليروز الجيلي. من شيوخه: عثمان بن أحمد بن خرجة النهاوندي. ومن تلاميذه: الأمير ابن ماكولا، وأبو منصور باي بن جعفر بن باي الجيلي فقيه شافعي، درس الفقه على ابن البيضاوي، وأبو الحسن الجندي، سمع منه الحديث، وغيره. من تلاميذه: أبو بكر الخطيب، وأبو نصر بن ماكولا، وولي القضاء بباب الطاق، وصار يكتب اسمه عبد الله بن جعفر، وتوفي في أول المحرم سنة (٤٥٢) (١).
