والمنسوب: أبو الحسن أحمد بن عمر بن عليّ بن إبراهيم بن إسحق الجيرفتي.من شيوخه: أبو عبيد الله محمد بن علي بن الحسين ابن أحمد الأنماطي، حدث عنه بشيراز. من تلاميذه: أبو القاسم هبة الله بن عبد الوارث الشيرازي. قال الرّهني: وبجيرفت ناس من الأزد، ثم من المهالبة، منهم: محمد بن هارون النّسّابة أعلم خلق الله تعالى بأنساب الناس وأيامهم، قال: ورأيته شيخا همّا طاعنا في السن، وكان أعلم من رأيت بنسب نزار واليمن، وكان مفرطا في التشيّع، وكان له ابنان عبد الله وعبد العزيز، فنظر عبد العزيز في الطب فحسن عمله فيه وألطف النظر من غير تقليد وألّف فيه تآليف (١).
