والمنسوب: أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله بن إبراهيم الجوخاني. من شيوخه: أحمد بن الحسن بن عبد الجبار، وإسمعيل بن منصور الشيعي، وأبو بكر بن دريد، وابن الأنباري، وأبو الغنائم الحسن بن عليّ بن حماد المقرئ، وسماعه منه كثير. من تلاميذه: أبو الحسن عليّ بن عمر بن بلاد بن عبدان البصري. وأبو شجاع عبد الله بن عليّ بن إبراهيم بن موسى الجوخاني.سمع منه أبو طاهر السلفي وذكره في معجم السفر قال: سألته عن مولده فقال: في المحرم، سنة (٤٣٣) (١).
