والمنسوب: أبو السعادات محمد بن المبارك بن محمد بن الحسين السّلمي الجبّي. دخل بغداد وأقام بها، وطلب العلم، وسمع الكثير من الشيوخ. من شيوخه: أبو الفتح عبيد الله بن شابيل أبي السعادات نصر الله بن عبد الرحمن القزّاز، وأبو بكر الحازمي، قرأ عليه وكتب مصنّفاته ولازمه حتى مات، وكان حسن الطريقة. مات سنة (٥٨٥) بجبّة، ودفن بها، ولم يبلغ أوان الرواية. والجُبّة أيضا، أو الجُبّ: موضع بمصر.
