والمنسوب: محمد بن أبي الحسن عليّ بن عبد الوهاب بن حليف: إن أصل أجداده من تسارس. روى أبو البركات عن السلفي، وكان أبوه أبو الحسن من الأعيان، مدحه ابن قلاقس أبو الفتح نصر الله بن قلاقس. وله شعر، وهو الذي جمع شعر ابن قلاقس. وأبو الحسين زيد بن عليّ التسارسي، كان فقيها فاضلا. وابنه أبو الرّضا عليّ بن زيد بن عليّ الخياط، التسارسي. من شيوخه: السلفي أبي طاهر.ومن تلاميذه: الحافظ أبو عبد الله محمد بن محمود بن النجار البغدادي قال: وقال لي كان جدّي من تسارس، وولد أبي بالاسكندرية (١).
