والمنسوب: عثمان بن أحمد بن أبي الفضل أبو عمرو الأشفورقاني، الحصري، كان إماما فاضلا حسن السيرة جميل الأمر، وكان إمام جامع أشفورقان. من شيوخه: أبو جعفر محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي القصر الخطيب، السنجري، وأبو جعفر محمد بن الحسين السّمنجاني الفقيه، وأبو جعفر محمد بن محمد بن الحسن الشرابي، قال أبو سعد: قرأت عليه بأشفورقان عند منصرفي من بلخ، وكانت ولادته تقديرا سنة (٤٧١) ووفاته في سنة (٥٤٩) (١).
