The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught his nation goodness and proper guidance, including favoring the right side and beginning with the right in actions where there is a choice between right and left. The right side is a blessed direction in its designation, as the people of the right hand are the people of Paradise, while the left was designated for distasteful matters and those involving harm.In this Hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: "When you dress," meaning: when you begin to put on clothes, shoes, or other items, "and when you perform Wudu’," meaning: when you begin ablution, "begin with your right side," meaning: give precedence to putting on the right hand or right foot before the left, and likewise washing the right limb before the left limb. In Sahih Al-Bukhari, it is narrated from `A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) loved to favor the right side as much as possible in all his affairs: in his purification, combing his hair, and putting on his shoes.".
